About Little Rock Housing Authority

The Metropolitan Housing Alliance was chartered in 1937. MHA is the fourth oldest and largest housing authority in the state of Arkansas, and has a long history of accomplishments and service to the Capital City Community.

The Authority has a total of 670 traditional public housing units, with an additional 157 apartments in two mixed finance complexes. The MHA has ACC authorization to administer 2,025 section 8 vouchers and serves as the contract administrator for a HUD financed senior development. Combined MHA provides housing assistance through its various housing programs to some 8000 individuals.


Mission Statement

The mission of the MHA is the same as that of the Department of Housing and Urban Development: To promote adequate and affordable housing, economic opportunity and a suitable living environment free from discrimination.
